YorSpace have been in the press today in a bid to get more people involved with our community led housing by commenting positively on the Lowfield planning application and details about how to become part of our team!
City of York Council submitted an outline planning application for 165 dwellings, a care home, health and public service building and associated green space, access and infrastructure on the former Lowfield School on Dijon Avenue in Acomb.
YorSpace’s vision to deliver low cost, cooperatively owned, environmentally sustainable, community focussed homes is included as part of this submission!
The wheels are well and truly in motion now for York’s first cohousing project at Lowfield Green that will deliver 19 homes with a mix of 1 and 2 bed flats as well 2,3 & 4 bed houses.
The application was submitted on the 9th October and the application is due to be determined in early 2018… we’re calling on our supporters to visit the City of York website and leave positive comments about the inclusion of the Community Self Build plot that has been identified for YorSpace to develop.
If you could take the time to do this it would be greatly appreciated as it adds strength to our case that Community led housing is supported in the city.
The deadline for comments is 15th November…. please do take the time to register your comments.
